Helping upgrade to a larger premises

We worked with a firm of chartered and certified accountants over a number of years providing holistic financial planning to the two directors of the firm.

Having expanded the business at a rapid pace, they were keen to expand and move into larger premises.

They had their eye on a unit on the outskirts of Cardiff, but felt that the move and expansion of the business would not be feasible.

However, we were able to work with them and make use of the pension fund that they were already drawing from to help fund the purchase. As the one party had insufficient funds to achieve the purchase, we were able to combine their fund with another two connected parties so that sufficient funds were available to complete the purchase. Not only that, as the property was bought by the pension fund, the pension fund paid for the renovation work and so they now have a wonderful new office, which has allowed the expansion of the business to take place.

Even better, the business now rents the premises from their pension fund, so they effectively pay themselves rent, better still as they knew they were paying themselves they put the rent up so as to ensure that they were being tax efficient, and minimising profits within the firm.

Better still the rent being paid was then withdrawn by the director in the form of a Pension income so he personally suffered no downside. They are now well settled into their new premises and often refer far more work to us.
