It can be said that David Hulse, Financial Planner at Bartholomew Hawkins enjoys keeping busy!

Whether that’s helping his clients with their financial planning, keeping up-to-date with his qualifications, enjoying time with his young family and friends, coaching youth rugby and football teams at his local clubs or training and partaking in charity fundraising events.  And he does it all in a calm and organised fashion, something we all at times could take some guidance from.

David undertook the huge cycle challenge, which saw him joining a team of 180 cycle from the picturesque rural village of Miskin in Pontyclun, South Wales, to Taunton, at the end of May. He has raised £1000 so far with more coming in for a charity close to his and his’ group of close friends’ hearts 2 Wish Upon a Star. When asked how he was preparing both physically and mentally for his upcoming cycle challenge, David said:

“I am fortunate to have a close family and friends who have been very supportive in helping me put in the time needed to train as well as organise various fundraising events in my local village and surrounding area. I have clocked up mileage of anywhere between 40-70 miles over the weekends in preparation. I am also fortunate to live in an area which has plenty of cycle paths as well as plentiful hills for my training.”

On completing the challenge David said:

“I enjoyed every minute of it. The camaraderie amongst us was amazing. I had time to enjoy the cycling, the scenery and the company of a tremendous group of people who took time out of their busy lives to cycle and raise money for a charity close to our hearts.”
